Walk by Faith

Girls Fit in Yellow $17.00
Boys Fit in Carolina Blue $17.00

Our first t-shirt, the Walk by Faith tee is just about ready for purchasing...our Etsy shop will open this weekend and you can also purchase directly through us by emailing us at sales@thecommonthreads.org.  I thought it would be fun to give you the history on how it was developed and a chance to win one for yourself!

When the idea hit me a few months ago to start common threads, I knew I wanted the t-shirts to be unique, fun, modern, and something that anyone could wear...because after all, part of our mission is to unify those who have special needs and those who are "typical".  So, Andrew and I walked into Big Fish (the amazing screen printing shop we are using) and sat down with Eric, our new graphic designer.  I talked in circles for 10 minutes about a few thoughts we had, mostly about Jack's glasses, but did not have a concrete idea.  I leaned over and asked Andrew if he had anything to add...he said he didn't really have anything else.  So, we just sat there a little stumped...until, Andrew finally said, "Well, naturally, if we are going to use Jack's glasses, we should use the verse: We walk by faith, not by sight."  BINGO!!  We laughed and high-fived because we knew it was exactly what the shirt needed and we also knew the significance of the verse.  So thankful the Lord gave Andrew the perfect Word for our first shirt!

Well, how do you get yourself a free Walk by Faith tee?  Comment below by answering the following question: What is an area in your life (past or present) where you have had to Walk by Faith and not by Sight?  We will randomly choose a winner on Sunday, December 2nd!

And, here are a few more colors we are offering...hope you love them as much as we do!

  1. Chris and I had to walk by faith during our journey to have a child. There were times I felt like it would never happen but I knew God had given me the desire to be a mommy so I had to trust that he would grant me the desires of my heart. Four years later and many heartbreaks along the way we have our two precious sons...

You are such an inspiration as you walk this journey, you transparency and faith are admirable. Miss seeing you on Sundays!

  2. My walk by faith was that of a mustard seed, if that, when my son was born 3 mths premature weighing 1lb13oz. The Lord, in a still small voice spoke to me after his delivery saying,"Your son will live." I clung to those words which gave me hope, strength & courage during his almost 100 days in the NICU. The Lord was caring for my son & I was trusting in His words to me inspite of what I saw. God was more than faithful to His promise to me. My son is now the husband of a beautiful wife and 2 amazing children and he now "walks by faith and not by sight."

  4. I had to walk by faith and not by sight as I was released from prison. I definitely could not visualize how God was going to heal me and my family. I followed God's direction by not returning to the drug infested environment where I came from and choose instead to become part of the Crossings Church extended family of believers. My faith walk with God was the only thing I was sure about at that time and now years later it is so much easier for me to walk by faith and not by sight because I have witnessed firsthand the love and prosperity that God will manifest in my life as long as I trust him ~Jessica Henderson

My husband helped me tell my "walk by faith" story by helping me make a video of it that I could share to others. Lol I promise this isn't a scam link, we put my story on YouTube and here is the link: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p6xAB1Bjatc

  7. Love your design and the verse!!!! Great story with how The Lord used Andrew!!! I definitely had to walk by faith and not by sight when moving to Grove. I moved here kicking and screaming and God has shown both me and Eric in the past year to trust Him and not be comfortable. Lean on Him and not others. And to really get to know Him and dig into His word. It's been the hardest year yet. But He has really worked on my heart and I'm not the same person I was a year ago!!

    1. Rachel, because I know how the Lord has used you since you have been in Grove, it is neat to hear that it has not always been easy for you to be here...sometimes the hard things are the BEST things, huh?!

  8. Tiff! Love the shirts! I want the one that comes with the Porter boys : )
The first time I remember walking by faith was when the Lord clearly led me away from all family and friends to move to Oklahoma for college. Many times of being homesick and unsure in Shawnee, I remember Him reaffirming His promises and direction. Now I see His hand and providence through the pain. My favorite benefits of this walk of faith are my amazing husband, two precious gifts from heaven, and one of my lifelong best friends : )
The verse that came to my mind after reading your post and all these awesome testimonies was Isaiah 30:21 "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."
Love you all so much! ~ Jen

    1. Jen, I am forever grateful that you listened to the Lord's direction for you in moving to OK...I know it is not always easy, but I know you see the blessings that have come from it as His gifts to you. And, the verse from Isaiah is such a great reminder for us all...love you friend!
